BJT 31“Ngày mười bốn, ngày mười lăm, ngày thứ tám của nửa tháng, và (các) ngày phụ trội của nửa tháng, tôi đã tham gia ngày Trai Giới khéo được hội đủ tám yếu tố, có sự ham thích (được sanh) về tập thể chư Thiên.
BJT 32Hôm nay, tôi đây, với một bữa ăn, đầu cạo, trùm lên y hai lớp, không còn mong mỏi tập thể chư Thiên sau khi đã dẹp bỏ sự buồn bực ở tâm.”

7. Kệ của Trưởng Lão Ni Mittā
“Cātuddasiṁ pañcadasiṁ, yā ca pakkhassa aṭṭhamī; Pāṭihāriyapakkhañca, aṭṭhaṅgasusamāgataṁ.
I rejoiced in the host of gods, having observed the sabbath complete in all eight factors, on the fourteenth and the fifteenth days,
Vào ngày mười bốn, ngày mười lăm, và ngày thứ tám của mỗi nửa tháng, và cả những ngày đặc biệt, (tôi đã thọ trì) Bát quan trai giới,
Uposathaṁ upāgacchiṁ, devakāyābhinandinī; Sājja ekena bhattena, muṇḍā saṅghāṭipārutā; Devakāyaṁ na patthehaṁ, vineyya hadaye daran”ti.
… Mittā therī ….
and the eighth day of the fortnight, as well as on the fortnightly special displays. Today I eat just once a day, my head is shaven, I wear the outer robe. I don’t long for the heavenly host, for stress has been removed from my heart.
đã thọ trì ngày Bố-tát, với mong muốn sanh về cõi trời. Hôm nay, người ấy (là tôi), với một bữa ăn, đầu cạo trọc, khoác y hai lớp, tôi không còn mong muốn sanh về cõi trời, sau khi đã loại trừ phiền não trong tim.
