BJT 33“Cũng giống như (bậc cha mẹ) tầm cầu sự tốt lành cho đứa con trai yêu quý độc nhất, tương tự như thế nên là người tốt lành đối với tất cả sinh mạng ở khắp mọi nơi.”

3. Kệ của Trưởng lão Sopāka
“Yathāpi ekaputtasmiṁ, piyasmiṁ kusalī siyā; Evaṁ sabbesu pāṇesu, sabbattha kusalo siyā”ti.
… Sopāko thero ….
Just as a mother would be good to her beloved only child; so, to creatures all and everywhere, let one be good.
“Như người mẹ đối với đứa con một yêu quý của mình, mong cầu cho nó được an lành; cũng vậy, đối với tất cả chúng sanh, ở khắp mọi nơi, người ấy nên có tâm mong cầu an lành.”
