BJT 157“Do sự tác ý không theo đúng đường lối, tôi đã bị vướng bận với việc trang sức. Và tôi đã tự kiêu, chao đảo, và bị khổ sở bởi sự luyến ái ở các dục.
BJT 158Nhờ vào đức Phật, vị thân quyến của mặt trời, vị thiện xảo về phương pháp, sau khi thực hành theo đúng đường lối, tôi đã đưa tâm ra khỏi hữu.”

“Ayoniso manasikārā, maṇḍanaṁ anuyuñjisaṁ; Uddhato capalo cāsiṁ, kāmarāgena aṭṭito.
Because of focusing on the wrong things, I was addicted to ornamentation. I was vain, fickle, racked by desire for pleasures of the senses.
Do tác ý không như lý, ta đã chuyên tâm vào việc trang điểm; ta đã trạo cử, dao động, và bị dục ái áp bức.
Upāyakusalenāhaṁ, buddhenādiccabandhunā; Yoniso paṭipajjitvā, bhave cittaṁ udabbahin”ti.

But with the help of the Buddha, the Kinsman of the Sun, so skilled in means, I practiced rationally and extracted attachment to continued existence from my mind.
Nhờ Đức Phật, bậc khéo léo trong phương tiện, quyến thuộc của mặt trời, ta đã thực hành như lý và đã nhấc tâm mình ra khỏi vũng lầy của hữu.
