3. Navaguyhamantavidhaṁsaka
BJT 3Vị trưởng lão đã nói rằng: “Có điều sai trái gì ở nơi không bằng phẳng, có sự lo sợ, có gió mạnh, được che kín, ở nơi của chư Thiên, ở đường lộ, ở chỗ qua lại, ở bến nước?”
“Thưa ngài Nāgasena, vấn đề được thảo luận ở nơi không bằng phẳng sẽ tản mạn, tiêu tan, nhỏ giọt, không thành tựu.
Ở nơi có sự lo sợ thì tâm ý bị khuấy động. Khi bị khuấy động thì không theo dõi vấn đề một cách đúng đắn.
Ở nơi có gió mạnh thì âm thanh không rõ.
Ở nơi được che kín thì nhiều người đứng nghe lén.
Ở nơi của chư Thiên vấn đề được thảo luận trở thành nghiêm trọng.
Ở đường lộ vấn đề được thảo luận trở thành vô bổ.
Ở chỗ qua lại trở nên thất thường.
Ở bến nước trở nên lộ liễu.
Vậy ở đây là:
Nơi không bằng phẳng, có sự lo sợ, có gió mạnh, được che kín, được chư Thiên ngự, đường lộ, chỗ qua lại, bến nước, tám nơi này nên được xa lánh.”

‘‘Bhante nāgasena, navime puggalā mantitaṃ guyhaṃ vivaranti na dhārenti. Katame nava? Rāgacarito dosacarito mohacarito bhīruko āmisagaruko itthī soṇḍo paṇḍako dārako’’ti.
“Venerable Nāgasena, these nine individuals reveal a secret counsel and do not keep it. Which nine? One of lustful disposition, one of hateful disposition, one of deluded disposition, the timid, one who esteems material gain, a woman, a drunkard, a eunuch, and a child.”
“Bạch ngài Nāgasena, chín hạng người này tiết lộ việc bàn luận bí mật, không giữ được. Chín hạng người ấy là những ai? Người có tánh tham ái, người có tánh sân hận, người có tánh si mê, người nhút nhát, người coi trọng vật chất, phụ nữ, người nghiện rượu, người ái nam ái nữ (paṇḍaka), và trẻ con.”
Thero āha ‘‘tesaṃ ko doso’’ti? ‘‘Rāgacarito, bhante nāgasena, rāgavasena mantitaṃ guyhaṃ vivarati na dhāreti, dosacarito, bhante, dosavasena mantitaṃ guyhaṃ vivarati na dhāreti, mūḷho mohavasena mantitaṃ guyhaṃ vivarati na dhāreti, bhīruko bhayavasena mantitaṃ guyhaṃ vivarati na dhāreti, āmisagaruko āmisahetu mantitaṃ guyhaṃ vivarati na dhāreti, itthī paññāya ittaratāya mantitaṃ guyhaṃ vivarati na dhāreti, soṇḍiko surālolatāya mantitaṃ guyhaṃ vivarati na dhāreti, paṇḍako anekaṃsikatāya mantitaṃ guyhaṃ vivarati na dhāreti, dārako capalatāya mantitaṃ guyhaṃ vivarati na dhāreti. Bhavatīha –
The elder asked, “What is their fault?” “Venerable Nāgasena, one of lustful disposition, on account of lust, reveals a secret counsel and does not keep it; one of hateful disposition, on account of hatred, reveals a secret counsel and does not keep it; the deluded one, on account of delusion, reveals a secret counsel and does not keep it; the timid one, on account of fear, reveals a secret counsel and does not keep it; one who esteems material gain, for the sake of material gain, reveals a secret counsel and does not keep it; a woman, due to the meagerness of her wisdom, reveals a secret counsel and does not keep it; a drunkard, due to his craving for liquor, reveals a secret counsel and does not keep it; a eunuch, due to his uncertainty, reveals a secret counsel and does not keep it; a child, due to his fickleness, reveals a secret counsel and does not keep it. Herein, it is said:
Vị Trưởng lão nói: “Họ có lỗi gì?” – “Bạch ngài Nāgasena, người có tánh tham ái tiết lộ việc bàn luận bí mật do bởi tham ái, không giữ được. Bạch ngài, người có tánh sân hận tiết lộ việc bàn luận bí mật do bởi sân hận, không giữ được. Người si mê tiết lộ việc bàn luận bí mật do bởi si mê, không giữ được. Người nhút nhát tiết lộ việc bàn luận bí mật do bởi sợ hãi, không giữ được. Người coi trọng vật chất tiết lộ việc bàn luận bí mật vì lý do vật chất, không giữ được. Phụ nữ tiết lộ việc bàn luận bí mật do trí tuệ nông cạn, không giữ được. Người nghiện rượu tiết lộ việc bàn luận bí mật do sự ham mê rượu, không giữ được. Người ái nam ái nữ (paṇḍaka) tiết lộ việc bàn luận bí mật do tâm tánh không nhất quán, không giữ được. Trẻ con tiết lộ việc bàn luận bí mật do tính hay thay đổi, không giữ được. Có câu kệ ở đây rằng –”
‘‘‘Ratto duṭṭho ca mūḷho ca, bhīru āmisagaruko †;
Itthī soṇḍo paṇḍako ca, navamo bhavati dārako.
“The lustful, the hateful, and the deluded, the timid, one who esteems material gain, a woman, a drunkard, and a eunuch; a child is the ninth.”
“‘Người tham ái, người sân hận, và người si mê, người nhút nhát, người coi trọng vật chất, phụ nữ, người nghiện rượu, và người ái nam ái nữ (paṇḍaka), thứ chín là trẻ con.
‘‘Navete puggalā loke, ittarā calitā calā;
Etehi mantitaṃ guyhaṃ, khippaṃ bhavati pākaṭa’’’nti.
“These nine individuals in the world are insignificant, wavering, and fickle; a secret counsel with them quickly becomes public.”
“‘Chín hạng người này ở trên đời, là những người thấp kém, dao động, hay thay đổi. Việc bí mật được bàn luận với họ sẽ nhanh chóng trở nên công khai.’”
