BJT 2Sau đó, đức vua đã đi vào khu rừng rậm tách biệt cùng với vị thầy và đã nói điều này: “Thưa ngài Nāgasena, ở đây người có ý định thảo luận có tám nơi cần xa lánh. Người có sự hiểu biết không thảo luận ở những nơi ấy. Vấn đề dầu đã được thảo luận sẽ bị đổ vỡ, không thành tựu. Là tám nơi nào?
- Nơi không bằng phẳng nên được xa lánh,
- có sự lo sợ nên được xa lánh,
- nơi có gió mạnh nên được xa lánh,
- nơi được che kín nên được xa lánh,
- nơi của chư Thiên nên được xa lánh,
- đường lộ nên được xa lánh,
- chỗ qua lại nên được xa lánh,
- bến nước nên được xa lánh,
- tám nơi này nên được xa lánh.”

‘‘Bhante nāgasena, aṭṭhime puggalā mantiyamānā mantitaṃ atthaṃ byāpādenti. Katame aṭṭha? Rāgacarito dosacarito mohacarito mānacarito luddho alaso ekacintī bāloti. Ime aṭṭha puggalā mantitaṃ atthaṃ byāpādentī’’ti.
“Venerable Nāgasena, these eight individuals, when consulted, ruin the matter being discussed. Which eight? One of lustful disposition, one of hateful disposition, one of deluded disposition, one of conceited disposition, the greedy, the lazy, the single-minded, and the fool. These eight individuals ruin the matter being discussed.”
“Bạch ngài Nāgasena, tám hạng người này khi được bàn luận cùng thì làm hỏng việc đã bàn. Tám hạng người ấy là những ai? Người có tánh tham ái, người có tánh sân hận, người có tánh si mê, người có tánh kiêu mạn, người tham lam, người lười biếng, người chỉ suy nghĩ một mình, và người ngu dốt. Tám hạng người này làm hỏng việc đã bàn.”
Thero āha ‘‘tesaṃ ko doso’’ti? ‘‘Rāgacarito, bhante nāgasena, rāgavasena mantitaṃ atthaṃ byāpādeti, dosacarito dosavasena mantitaṃ atthaṃ byāpādeti, mohacarito mohavasena mantitaṃ atthaṃ byāpādeti, mānacarito mānavasena mantitaṃ atthaṃ byāpādeti, luddho lobhavasena mantitaṃ atthaṃ byāpādeti, alaso alasatāya mantitaṃ atthaṃ byāpādeti, ekacintī ekacintitāya mantitaṃ atthaṃ byāpādeti, bālo bālatāya mantitaṃ atthaṃ byāpādeti. Bhavatīha –
The elder asked, “What is their fault?” “Venerable Nāgasena, one of lustful disposition, on account of lust, ruins the matter being discussed; one of hateful disposition, on account of hatred, ruins the matter being discussed; one of deluded disposition, on account of delusion, ruins the matter being discussed; one of conceited disposition, on account of conceit, ruins the matter being discussed; the greedy, on account of greed, ruin the matter being discussed; the lazy, on account of laziness, ruin the matter being discussed; the single-minded, on account of being single-minded, ruins the matter being discussed; the fool, on account of foolishness, ruins the matter being discussed. Herein, it is said:
Vị Trưởng lão nói: “Họ có lỗi gì?” – “Bạch ngài Nāgasena, người có tánh tham ái làm hỏng việc đã bàn do bởi tham ái. Người có tánh sân hận làm hỏng việc đã bàn do bởi sân hận. Người có tánh si mê làm hỏng việc đã bàn do bởi si mê. Người có tánh kiêu mạn làm hỏng việc đã bàn do bởi kiêu mạn. Người tham lam làm hỏng việc đã bàn do bởi tham lam. Người lười biếng làm hỏng việc đã bàn do bởi sự lười biếng. Người chỉ suy nghĩ một mình làm hỏng việc đã bàn do bởi việc chỉ suy nghĩ một mình. Người ngu dốt làm hỏng việc đã bàn do bởi sự ngu dốt. Có câu kệ ở đây rằng –”
‘‘‘Ratto duṭṭho ca mūḷho ca, mānī luddho tathālaso;
Ekacintī ca bālo ca, ete atthavināsakā’’’ti.
“The lustful, the hateful, and the deluded, the conceited, the greedy, and likewise the lazy; the single-minded and the fool—these are the destroyers of the matter.”
“‘Người tham ái, người sân hận, và người si mê, người kiêu mạn, người tham lam, cũng như người lười biếng, người chỉ suy nghĩ một mình, và người ngu dốt, những người này là những kẻ phá hoại công việc.’”
