8. Paññāpatiṭṭhānapañha
Đức vua đã nói rằng: “Thưa ngài Nāgasena, tuệ trú ở nơi nào?”
“Tâu đại vương, không ở nơi nào cả.”
“Thưa ngài Nāgasena, như vậy thì không có tuệ.”
“Tâu đại vương, gió trú ở nơi nào?”
“Thưa ngài, không ở nơi nào cả.”
“Tâu đại vương, như vậy thì không có gió.”
“Thưa ngài Nāgasena, ngài thật khôn khéo.”

8. Rājā āha ‘‘bhante nāgasena, paññā kuhiṃ paṭivasatī’’ti? ‘‘Na katthaci mahārājā’’ti. ‘‘Tena hi, bhante nāgasena, natthi paññā’’ti. ‘‘Vāto, mahārāja, kuhiṃ paṭivasatī’’ti? ‘‘Na katthaci bhante’’ti. ‘‘Tena hi, mahārāja, natthi vāto’’ti.
8. The king asked, "Venerable Nāgasena, where does wisdom reside?" "Nowhere, great king." "In that case, Venerable Nāgasena, wisdom does not exist." "Great king, where does the wind reside?" "Nowhere, Venerable." "In that case, great king, the wind does not exist."
8. Vua tâu: “Bạch ngài Nāgasena, trí tuệ trú ngụ ở đâu?” – “Thưa Đại vương, không ở một nơi nào cả.” – “Bạch ngài Nāgasena, nếu vậy thì không có trí tuệ.” – “Thưa Đại vương, gió trú ngụ ở đâu?” – “Bạch ngài, không ở một nơi nào cả.” – “Thưa Đại vương, nếu vậy thì không có gió.”
